About
The Rush RFC was formed so that amateur athletes in the Greater Denver area that are looking to participate competitively in the classic game of rugby can do so in an inclusive multicultural environment.
Mission
The purpose of the Colorado Rush Rugby Football Club is to provide an opportunity for men in the LGBT community and their straight allies to play rugby on a competitive level. Through practices, socials, matches, fitness, fundraising, and recruitment events, the team strives to promote an awareness and respect for gay men in contact sports and strengthen and promote positive self‐images and community building.
The team hopes to strengthen and promote positive self-images and community building. Moreover, we recognize the historical and systematic oppression of gay men, people of color, and queer people. By providing an inclusive and affirming space for individual growth of members of the above groups, the Colorado Rush Rugby Football Club hopes to perpetually dismantle oppression and negative stereotypes in competitive rugby.
HEADLINER: CHUCK ROY
Chuck Roy knows how to throw a party.
-Denver Post
I’ve been bearly telling jokes for twenty years. Stand-up comedy is my art. In 1992, four days after flunking out of college I called a Boston comedy club and asked, “How does one become a comedian?” The manager, Rita, remembers booking this pathetic little cub on that phone call. I was an adorably professional ex-clerk for a Congressperson and Republican party operative, President of the State of New Hampshire’s student council,Vice President of the F.B.L.A., Founding and only member of the Conservative Youth Network and G.A.Y. Rita introduced me to the ‘road less travelled’; from New Hampshire to gigs for Aerosmith, Will & Grace, 3rd Rock from the Sun and most recently Louie Anderson, a master comedian and mentor. Twenty years ago Rita snuck me in to see Louie tell jokes. Twenty years later Louie coached me into finding my voice. Now, I bearly tell jokes about dating a girl, his name is Steve. We bearly broke up and my Dad gives me break-up and dating advice bearly funny enough to be stand-up comedy material.
Bearly A Producer.
My life in Denver is about being creative. What started with Saturday Night Meathead Fights led to comedies like the Crop Report, Renewable Energy Comedy Show and Green Screen Theater. Now I write jokes on a blog; Jokes.ChuckRoy.com. Mondays my jokes are about the 2016 Presidential race. The blog is a challenging new medium connecting my inner Ben Franklin to modern day audience. Please stay tuned, I’m Bearly blogging.
Bears Love Streams.
Every Monday I’m bearly streaming on Euge, a talk show. We take an inside look at brand new comics chasing the dream. Watch live at EugeShow.com.
