If you value your person & valuable, then STAY AWAY FROM HERE!!

Your valuables & your person, may NOT be safe and protected!!On 4/27/15, 12:00am I was assaulted by an assailant resulting in medical expenses over $100,000.Another Charlie’s customer was harassing me. I was blind sighted by the assailant.Immediately,I alerted bartender of my shattered hip tragedy. Instead of an ambulance that I requested, Charlie’s called police & I was violently shoved into police car. The police said that 1 week after the assault, Charlie’s had lost security footage on May 6. Charlie’s initial response of not calling an ambulance for a tragic injury on their property is deplorable. Denver Police 2015 crime maps show Charlie’s ALONE has more VIOLENT ASSAULT &THEFTS/LACENCY crimes reported than 87.5 % of all Denver GLBT bars in last 6 months. So if you decide to visit Charlie’s, keep in mind it may be safer to visit other establishments for quality drag shows, dancing, and quality refreshments. YOUR PHYSICAL QUALITY OF LIFE JUST MIGHT DEPEND ON IT!!!!

An okay place

If you want country get here early. Dance lessons by Billy are great! Cheap drinks! But don't expect country all night. Denvers only gay country bar turns to top 40 too early in the night with a DJ drag queen that can't even fill up a small dance floor let alone the main floor. Management is more concerned about making money than making the place country. Don't expect Cowboys in the Caribbean on pride weekend to be country. Management said to get use to top 40. This is what happens when you let a twink from AZ run a 30+ year old country bar.

Mixed

I never enjoy the bartenders but the dancing is always fun, at least on the country side. The other dance floor attracts a lot of crazies but if you take a big group of friends it can be a blast!

This is where they coined the term "WHITE MEN CAN'T DANCE"

The men that do country are great.....it's on the "club" dance side it gets sketchy. The bar is full of cowboys and lesbians which always makes for an interesting mix. Thursday night is generally Charlie's night.....although it's becoming more diluted by other bars. It's definitely cheap........there are always drink specials but the bartenders generally won't mention them so keep that in mind. Beer by the pitcher is available. What can be said of Charlie's is that there is a pair of mirror covered boots hanging and spinning from the ceiling. If that appeals to you......hey. this is YOUR bar.
