Being Your Glamorous Self: Boot Blacking and Leather Care with 2016 Southwest Boot Black xiaoyi A series of workshops that give tips and tricks on an array of talents from makeup basics and nail color, to beard dyeing and complex tie tying. These workshops are designed to give folks the tools to express their inner fabulousness in a safe environment regardless of gender identity or expression. Whether or not you expressing your binary gender or looking to blend both genders simultaneously, all are supported and welcomed!! How to keep your leather garmets and footwear looking amazing. Leather has been used as clothing and armor for all of recorded history. From jackets to pants, skirts to boots and even hats, leather needs to be cared for and treated so that it can continue looking amazing and last for lifetimes. In this class xiaoyi will go over the types of leather most commonly used for clothing and shoes/boots today and how to tell them apart. She will also give an overview of what products to use on which type and how to use them. If time permits, there will be an opportunity to use some of these products and get a feel for them as well. Throughout this class, there will be a smattering of bootblacking and bootblack culture throughout history and into today. Please bring or wear any leather clothing or shoes you might have and any leather items you want to know more about how to care for. xiaoyi has been a part of the leather/kink scene since 2010. She is the Southwest Bootblack 2016, which is a title within the Leather community that focuses on teaching and skill sharing. She teaches about consensual slavery, bootblacking, BDSM, relationships, poly and many other topics. xiaoyi’s mission is to help create understanding and acceptance among people for each to learn and grow and be as they are. She works to do this through education and demystification. She is a lifestyle coach and mentor who openly shares of her journey in hopes that she might help others who face similar challenges. xiaoyi is a member in good standing of three local Master And slaves Together(sic) groups, Denver girls of Leather(sic), the Director of Operations for Colorado Leather Fest, the Denver-Metro Regional Director for Colorado Center for Alternative Lifestyles, as well as the co-presenter for the Denver Shibari Jams. Her favorite color is rainbow and her favorite flower is tulips. She has a wry sense of humor and red hair. She lives in Denver CO with her husband and cats.
