Chinook Fund invites you to learn more about our new program - our Giving Project!
Modeled after Social Justice Fund North West's success, we are piloting our Giving Project starting this January. Our Grantmaking Committee will no longer exist in it's current formation, but many familiar faces will still be doing this work; our processes are deepening to include a 6 month curriculum of social & political education, grantmaking and fundraising training, and cross-race and cross-class anti-oppression work. (The process for applicants and grantees and all of our application materials will remain the same.)
A cohort of 20 cross-class, multiracial community members will work collectively to raise money from their friends and family and make grants to organizations working for social change. In line with Chinook Funds' mission, the Giving Project is meant to amplify the power of community to advance equity and justice.
Giving Project will use Chinook Funds' longstanding criteria to select grantees and provide general operating grants in the amounts of up to $4,000 for Start-Up organizations and up to $10,000 for Established organizations. We are always committed to funding organizational efforts that change systems of injustice within Colorado.
If you are interested in participating in the Giving Project as a cohort member and donor, please RSVP to join one of the information sessions:
Friday, October 23rd: 1pm-3pm
Thursday, October 29th: 4pm-6pm
