While his love of music started as a child, he pursued other career paths that gained him two engineering degrees and an MBA. With music always being a great release for him the desire to create music got more intense over time. Fortunately for Chris the stars aligned and a great mentor came along to help start the process. His newly budding career hit its first major accomplishment when Denver’s own DJ Achilles of Serengeti (now retired) joined in and started mentoring Chris. From there the journey turned to self discovery and his continued dedication to learning and growing shows in his amazing skill set. Early in his journey Chris had a desire to break into the local and national scene of dance music. He immediately knew he wanted to join the ranks of DJ Nina Flowers and DJ Sean O’Grady, both Denver based DJs with national followings. Also both of whom hold residencies at Denver’s premiere gay dance club Tracks Denver where he dreamed of playing. With his never ending drive to be the best and a fully supportive fan base behind him, he did it. DJ Chris Cornell is one of the newest talents to emerge out of the hot circuit and club DJ scene in Denver. His continued desire to reach the next level came after creating his first podcasts for release thru SoundCloud.com. After the warm response he was quickly approached to join on as a bi-monthly resident on ElectricFM.com. During this time after a successful premiere at Denver's biggest GLBT club, Chris was quickly offered a residency at Tracks Denver Nightclub. Even his national premier for Austin’s Iron Bear Beargasm event sold out. With all of this success Chris was now joining the amazing talent that he looked up to, and he hasn’t looked back. He had a desire to enter the scene with a bang and did he! He has had the pleasure of meeting some of the industry greats that influence his DJ style. With all the influences out there Chris is drawn to Peter Rauhofer for his house. Deadmou5 for his electro, Dave Aude for the club anthems of the weekend, and Billy Lace for his fresh new take on circuit music. These influences are ever changing, as is his DJ style. DJ Chris Cornell has shot up the ranks where national and local bookings are a reality. His booking schedule looks more like a rockstars tour date schedule and is showing no signs of stopping. His latest big announcement is his booking for the renowned U.S. EDM and dance music event Global Dance Festival in July 2014 at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. With all the fast success that Chris has had, he has never lost sight of where he started. He is constantly supporting all local GLBT causes and events. His latest charitable participation is with the local organization CAP (Colorado Aids Project) and their event The Apocalypse Ball, a HIV/AIDS event that raises money to support the local community. Chris’ continuing rising star is surely not stopping there. Chris has recently began working to create his own mixes and edits of the songs he loves. Make sure you keep an ear out for this next step in his career. With his drive to play all the best venues and parties in the world, and with the help of his amazing support team Chris knows he will see you in a city near you!
