Law Enforcement and the Transgender Community

The US Department of Justice, Community Relations Service (CRS), is presenting the Law Enforcement and the Transgender Community training program which is intended to familiarize public safety personnel, law enforcement, government officials, service providers and community members with relevant terminology, barriers to successful police-Transgender community relations and strategies for collaboration. The program is an effective tool to promote contacts with the Transgender community that limit behaviors and actions that may be perceived as offensive. In addition, the program can act as a broader initiative to engage and strengthen the relationships between local officials, community leaders and members of the Transgender community. The training is open to law enforcement, service providers, advocates and others with an interest in the topic. This is a Colorado Post certified training #SP0003
