We’re excited to have two fantastic speakers for this last LGBT Young Professionals Event of 2014!
Jeffery Hoyle is a public relations and marketing professional. Jeffery also has been published in a number of local and national publications. He has been featured in OutFront, presently, he is the GLBT Business Columnist for Examiner.com and as a “Public Relations Expert” for ProducersWEB; and on-line publication devoted to the financial services industry. He currently serves as Chair of the Denver Mayor’s GLBT Commission, and also lends his support to a number of other charitable organizations including The Alexander Foundation, Cooking Matters, and a sub-committee chair for the upcoming National Gay and Lesbian Task Force Creating Change Conference being hosted in Denver in February 2015.
Jeffery will give a short talk about Denver Mayor’s Commission, where he serves as Chair and sharing about the great work that organization has going on and ways to get looped in with service to the community through the various commissions.
Jeff Thormodsgaard, currently serves as partner and Vice-President at Mendez Consulting, Inc. focusing his work efforts on being a policy strategist and campaign specialist. At the capitol, he is known for his ability to strategize, negotiate and the tenacity he exudes on behalf of his clients. While he continues to expand the realm of expertise Mendez Consulting offers their clients, he also continues to be a well-known and instrumental voice through a variety of non-profit organizations. He currently services on the Board of Directors for Colorado AIDS Project (CAP) and also deals directly with various boards in his capacity of effectuating change at the state capitol.
Jeff’s talk will focus on the benefits and the realities of Board service as an out gay man, and in a way that best helps your various career paths.
This session is a great opportunity for young professionals and students trying to find out more information about these options as a part of an overall networking plan, as well as for folks more established in their careers who could use a little refresher and insight in moving beyond work goals to a more balanced and focused portfolio of who you are and what you do!
