Terri Barton Gregg in connection with Hold Please Productions delivers another Saturday night comedy showcase at Jake's on September 13th! CLASS ACTION is a comedy show to benefit East High School Student Assistance Fund and Summit Ridge Middle School! Please bring school supply donations to the show and drop in the bucket by the door. THE LINE-UP Class Action stars Headliner Deacon Gray, who has an improvisational style of comedy that led The Oklahoma Gazette to refer to him as “a runaway mind train". Guest sets by comedian D. Kelley who brings a unique style of comedy which mixes a variety of material pulled from everyday life, storytelling and impromptu audience interactions; comedian Sean David who is on a constant quest for that elusive "achievement" he could finally talk about; comedian Jen Sculley who is a comedic force to be reckoned with; and comedian John O'Keefe who has been acting and performing improv in the Denver and Longmont areas since 2002. The night's Host will be none other than Terri Barton Gregg AKA “The Hebrew Hairdresser” and the Emcee will be Byron Graham who is a comedian and writer from Denver Colorado. Tickets are $5 at the door or online with priority seating. We will be accepting school supply donations at the door to benefit East High School Student Assistance Fund and Summit Ridge Middle School. Since then, Deacon has performed across the country and worked with such notable comedians as: Louie Anderson, Dave Attell, Lewis Black, David Brenner, Drew Carey, Dick Cavett, Dave Chappelle, Louis C.K., David Cross, Ellen Degeneres, Craig Ferguson, Jeff Foxworthy, Greg Giraldo, Bobcat Goldthwait, Kathy Griffin, Mitch Hedberg, Bill Hicks, D.L. Hughley, Sam Kinison, Robert Klein, Richard Lewis, Norm MacDonald, Jay Mohr, Paula Poundstone, Brian Regan, Chris Rock, Bob Saget, Sinbad, and Wanda Sykes. In 2008, Deacon was the grand prize winner of the very first Great American Comedy Festival, held at the Johnny Carson Theater in Nebraska. Deacon was also chosen as Oklahoma’s Funniest Person five times, and was selected to represent the state on Showtime in the 1991 National Lampoon Laugh-off at the Sahara hotel in Las Vegas. Deacon has performed corporate shows for clients such as American Airlines, Sonic, Firestone, Lowe’s, Cox Cable, and the Denver Press Club. University appearances include the University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma State University, the University of Colorado, Metro State University, and the Colorado School of Mines. Charity work includes a 2012 benefit for Here4Youth in Sioux Falls, SD, and the 2010 Diamonds in the Rough auction for Denver's Children’s Hospital. Deacon has an improvisational style of comedy that led The Oklahoma Gazette to refer to him as “a runaway mind train.” In short: no two shows are ever alike. Gray has also trained with the improvisational groups Second City, Chicago City Limits, and L.A. TheatreSports. In 2001, Gray moved to Denver, where he now serves as New Talent Coordinator at Comedy Works, overseeing the development of new and amateur comedians. GUEST: D. KELLEY D Kelley has been performing comedy in and around the Denver Metropolitan area and surrounding states for more than 8 years. He brings a unique style of comedy which mixes a variety of material pulled from everyday life, storytelling and impromptu audience interactions, D Kelley first caught the comedy bug while doing skits for his track team in college, he got his first laughs in front of an audience and was hooked. He began honing his stand-up skills at open-mics and showcases throughout Colorado. He is a regular at The Comedy Works and the Denver Improv and has been making quite a name for himself. GUEST: SEAN DAVID Like most people, Sean David has done some things he isn't proud of. He tends to not talk about those things, because like I said, he isn't proud of them. Sean David is on a constant quest for that elusive "achievement" he could finally talk about. GUEST: JEN SCULLEY With performances all along the west coast (Los Angeles, San Francisco), Jen Sculley is a comedic force to be reckoned with. Her talent for interacting with a crowd combined with her quick wit and likeable personality make her a favorite MC and comedian for any event. She has written and worked with the famous Second City in LA, and now performs all over the US. GUEST: JOHN O'KEEFE John O'Keefe has been acting and performing improv in the Denver and Longmont areas since 2002. He is also a published author and has recently added stand-up comic to his list of activities. In his spare time, for the last 15 years, John has taught 8th grade . HOST: TERRI BARTON GREGG Terri Barton Gregg AKA "The Hebrew Hairdresser" is a Denver Native. Her busy Stand Up Comedy career includes producing, promoting and booking entertainment. TBG and Unified Front Entertainment has joined forces with Andrew Feinstein and are proud to bring Stand Up Comedy to Jake's Food & Spirits. Gregg 's smooth comic stylings can be seen at the Comedy Works, the Denver Improv, Loonies and a sundry of other venues around the U.S. Her productions include: Stoned Cold Comedy, Let's Plotz, Christmas with the Jews, Comedy Uncorked, Bangkok Comedy, Dog Gone It and Being a Mother is a Mother to name a few. A portion of the proceeds for all of Terri's performances are designated for philanthropic donations. EMCEE: BYRON GRAHAM Byron Graham is a comedian and writer from Denver Colorado. He hosts an open mic every sunday night at Kinga's Lounge and writes for Denver's Westword newspaper.
