JR's Bar and Grill Denver

Sometime change is a good thing but this time it should be closed. Jrs has lost all the fun and become a bitch bar. A must not see.

Jr's used to be the place to go. There used to be drinks at a great price, temperature reasonable, staff not so bitchy. Every since they got new management, the drinks have....well lets call them straight drinks, temperature is way too hot. I always had to wear a short sleeve shirt in the middle of winter because they wont turn on the AC but if you go out side, you freeze to death. Then there is the staff. The bar backs are great but the Bar Tenders are not. Now they give you a weird look when you ask whats on special, or get mad at you when you want to try a new drink and ask whats good. I used to come on Thursday's nights. I don't any more because the place is dead. I was there the other night. The place was so dead at 11:30pm, I was dancing in the middle of the bar with a few friends. That is sad since Jr's doesn't have a dance floor. Until they received new management, or change things, I would not recommend to go there.

Twinks -- bring it on! This bar has great STRONG drinks, but twinks make me feel sober. This is the closest bar to my house and I rarely go there. On Fridays (in the summer), you can have burger across the street at MARCZYK -- the best meat market in town (real meat, not men)!!! Excellent bar to stand and model and watch the video. Bartenders are awesome and fast -- love you all!

JR's is clearly a popular bar in Denver. The handsome space on two floors was crowded on my visit. There were a lot of hot men and it clearly was a nice place, but there was something missing. Go for a drink, maybe you will like it more than I did.

I find it very odd that "the best gay bar in Denver" offers no dancing. Other than that the staff is generally nice (even to women) and the crowd is decently friendly. Drink prices are fairly cheap, but it can definitely get crowded on a Thursday night. Most people love it, but I would suggest checking it out for yourself. In all honesty, it would be nice to see some more women out there.
